Karlton “Matthew/Matt” Kincaid (and his million-dollar smile!!) was one of three children born to Lisa Lenoir and Karlton Kincaid on December 26, 1990 in Cincinnati, OH. During his childhood, the family moved around a bit before settling in Camilla, GA in 2002. Matt attended Mitchell County Schools in Camilla from elementary to high school. In 2008, Matt moved back to Cincinnati and attended Woodward Career Technical High School (Cincinnati Public Schools) in 2008-2009. Matt completed high school while incarcerated in 2010.
Matt played youth football in elementary school and high school and proudly played defense on Woodward’s undefeated team in 2009.
Matt wasn’t perfect. He made mistakes, one of which cost him his freedom for a while. But while incarcerated, he used his time to write and draw. He read voraciously and took interest in a variety of topics. He also built lasting friendships that continued to this day.
Matt was a talented artist in many ways – he enjoyed writing, music and drawing. He had just begun to seriously explore entering the rap music industry. He appeared in music videos, performed onstage and recorded a couple of songs.
He was an extremely hard worker. He held jobs in construction, moving, car detailing, and private security. He literally worked night and day. Matt was also a fitness fanatic! He used working out as a way to keep busy and stay out of trouble. He also wanted to teach other people how to be healthy and fit.
He had many friends – from his childhood friends in Camilla, GA to the friends he made while in Cincinnati, OH. His friends have all stated how much they looked up to him as a mentor, supporter and a source of positivity.
Matt discovered that he, Landon and Taylor had multiple half-siblings and was determined to find them and build relationships with them. Although they had different moms, they were all very close and he loved them.
Matt continued to add new chapters to his life by getting engaged to Arianna James on New Year’s Day 2023. Matt desperately wanted children of his own but was not blessed with children before his death. However, he was a great uncle to Kamden (Taylor), Eliana and Lavaeh (Landon), and to the children of his other close friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert L. Lenoir, Jr. and Betty A. Guy, and half-sister Kiyaira Kincaid. Matt is survived by his parents, Lisa Ann Kincaid and Karlton Michael Kincaid, brother Landon Alexander Kincaid, sister Taylor Quinn Kincaid, his grandparents Don Kincaid (Nancy) and Sandi Mitchell, aunts Patria Lenoir, Lori Lenoir-White (Bryan), Leslie Arrowsmith (Chad), Keva Kincaid, Benita Glover (KJ), uncles P. Geoffrey Lenoir (Mandy), Eric Kincaid, cousins Keyna Kincaid and Keenan McDowell, Keith, Jr and Bella Glover, Michael Crosby, Akira and Gabby Lenoir, and half-siblings Jovan Parks, Dion Daniels, and Linda Montea Walton-Isham, and a host of grand/great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Matt was loved by many and will be missed by all.
We love you, Matt
