Judy Mosley was born on August 14, 1943, in Red Springs, North Carolina, to the loving union of Rev. David Mosley and Gladys (Hackett) Mosley. Her life was grounded in faith, strengthened by family, and filled with the simple joys that brought her comfort and happiness.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents and all of her siblings: Mrs. Janice A. Mosley-West, Evangelist Angela M. Mosley-Smith, Rev. David K. Mosley, and Rev. Dr. Jackie Donald Mosley. She was also preceded in death by her precious niece, Brittany A. Mosley.
Her Faith and Foundation
Judy attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Taft High School in 1961. Her love for God was an important part of who she was, and her faith helped shape the foundation of her life. She expressed that faith through music, joyfully singing in the choir at her father’s church, Revival Healing Temple. Her connection to God and the importance she placed on family remained meaningful parts of her life.
Judy also believed in the value of hard work. Throughout her career, she was employed by Kenner Toys, the United States Postal Service (USPS), and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She carried a strong work ethic and a sense of dedication throughout her working years.
A Life Filled with Love and Joy
Family held a special place in Judy’s heart. She treasured spending time with her loved ones and found happiness in being surrounded by those who meant the most to her. The memories she created with family will continue to be a source of comfort and love for generations to come.
Judy knew how to enjoy life’s little pleasures. She loved watching television, especially anything by Tyler Perry, and enjoyed game shows and comedy sitcoms. One of her favorites was Martin, which brought her plenty of laughter and entertainment.
Judy also had a wonderful sense of style. She loved fashion, dressing up, and wearing her favorite heels. She enjoyed looking her best and had a special way of expressing herself through the clothes she wore. Her love of music was equally strong, with gospel music holding the most special place in her heart.
And, of course, there was bingo! Judy thoroughly enjoyed playing and, as those who knew her would likely agree, she always won! Her love of the game was just one more example of the personality and enjoyment she brought to the things she loved.
Comfort, Happiness, and a Special Companion
For Judy, comfort and happiness were among life’s greatest treasures. She appreciated the little things that made her feel peaceful, loved, and content.
One of her most beloved comforts was her Squishmallow, Cornelius, affectionately known as “Corny.” Given to her as a special gift by her niece, Jasmine Neche’, Corny quickly became a treasured companion. Judy cherished this thoughtful gift and cuddled with Corny every night. This sweet and personal detail reflects the love she received from her family and the comfort she found in something so special to her.
Corny was more than a cuddly companion; he was a reminder of the thoughtfulness and love shared between an aunt and her niece. It is a tender memory that those who knew Judy will always hold dear.
Those She Leaves to Cherish Her Memory
Judy leaves to cherish her memory her last surviving cousin of her generation Richardine Harris of Chesterfield, Virginia. Her dear sister- in law Glennie Daphene Mosley and her cousin Linda Hillard of Cincinnati Ohio, along with her beloved nieces, nephews and cousins: Pastor Al Mosley, Tracie Mosley, Bridget Strayhorn, Derron Brooks, Ezzard Mosley, Tiffany Brooks, Brandi Jorden, Brennan Woods, Brandon Mosley, Sean A. Mosley, Jasmine Neche’, Feaisha Brooks, Alesha Brooks, Antuan Brooks, Zahyra Bailey, Makayla Strayhorn and Braylen Jorden. She also leaves behind a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who will continue to carry her memory forward.
Forever Loved and Remembered
Though Judy’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her faith in God, her devotion to family, her love of gospel music, her fashionable flair, her laughter, and even her winning ways at bingo all tell the story of a woman who found joy in the things that mattered most to her.
As family and friends reflect on Judy’s life, may they find comfort in the memories of time spent together, the laughter shared, and the love that will never fade. May her life remind us to treasure our faith, embrace the people we love, and find happiness in the little things that make each day special.
Judy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the everlasting love of God.
