Juanita “Mahri” Price, lovingly known as Nita, was born on August 2, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents Lewis B. and Clara M. Price who both preceded her in death. She departed this life to enter her eternal rest in heaven on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Mother to her two heartbeats, Miyah K. (deceased) and Martyse K. Price-Williams, Juanita was third youngest of ten children, Barbara Jean (deceased), Clara L. [Rev. Eugene] Godhigh, Vincent W., Sr (deceased), Patricia Adams, Jerry L., Tyrone L., Anthony L., Lionel B. [Tammy], and Theresa A.
Juanita graduated from Walnut Hills High School (Go Eagles!) and later attended and graduated from University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in Sociology. Her first job was at the Unemployment Office and then went on to work at Prudential and then MediSync where she supervised several teams and met many good friends. In Juanita’s last job at Humana she loved helping customers and writing the monthly team newsletter.
Juanita accepted Christ at a young age and joined St. Paul A.M.E early in her life. She later became a member of Christ Our Redeemer, now Grace A.M.E., where she served and worshipped for many years, remaining a faithful member until her death.
Nita loved life and her family; she never met a stranger. She made everyone feel like they were her most favorite person. Nita loved socializing, dancing, watching people enjoy the food she’d prepared for them, sharing her love of her blackness, Africa, black images and black history and making up her own words to songs. Recently, she enjoyed redecorating her home, especially the deck which she’d named Club JaunTyse.
Nita didn’t like the fact that she did not have an official middle name, so her “mama said” she could choose her own; she chose Mahri.
Juanita leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, siblings, two aunts, Francis Webb and Martha Bachelor along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
