Sister Josie Belle Stone was born to the union of the late Nina McWhorter and William McWhorter on April 6, 1924, in Crawfordville, GA. She departed this earthly life on October 4, 2023.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greenwood Baptist Church in Barnett, Georgia. Josie Belle was united in holy wedlock to Luther Stone in September of 1942.
Josie Belle joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church in 1942 under the leadership of the late Rev. J.M. Stephens. She was a member of several church auxiliaries. She was a faithful member and loved the church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband of 82 years, Luther Stone, two nieces, Gail Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Josephine Billingsley of Crawfordville, Georgia; nephew, David Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Russell (Claudine) Stone; one sister-in-law, Thelma Bright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
