This week many employees of GCWW in other departments have said to me they are shocked. He reached out to so many people of all ages. I am certain some of them will have a place in heaven from Jonathan testifying of the Lord's love and sacrifice for us all. I will continue to pray for you as your loss is great and I know the difficulty of losing someone so close to Christmas. May the Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
Prayers for your Family May you find peace .... From Linda W. an Beverly G.
John always had the kindest words to me, and always smiling. Continued prayers to the family
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Blake and precious family of Jonathan.
We at Grace Baptist of Fairborn share in your grief while also sharing in your celebration of such a humble, loving, godly servant as Jonathan is. I have no question that Jonathan experienced such a “glorious entrance” into Christ’s presence beyond all of our comprehension. Imagine the moment when Jesus Himself presented Jonathan to the Father... “Father, this is Jonathan and he is mine”. Praise His name! There was no greater moment in eternity for him than that moment! And what praise he is enjoying now! Praise unhindered by sinful flesh... perfect worship; he is finally worshipping Christ in perfect purity, the way Jesus is worthy of being worshipped.
As much as I LOVED hearing Jonathan sing (and preach), his singing now surely cannot compare to anything we have ever heard from him!
So many of us suffered a great loss in his leaving us, but he graduated to his greatest love, Jesus Christ. I am jealous! Even so come quickly Lord Jesus!
Our prayers continue with you all.
Pastor Mark Pyles and the Grace Baptist church family

May God give you the peace you need at this difficult time. Andrea Ventus-Ellison and family :pray::skin-tone-4:

I didn’t want it to be true. Denial, of course. Didn’t want to think of a world without him here. Selfish, raw, pre-grieving — thinking all about me missing my hilarious, compassionate, faithful uncle. In time, we learn to walk with our grief and its connection to the one we (still) love.
Say not in grief that he is no more – but live in thankfulness that he was
I miss you Uncle Jon

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Timothy 4:7 We will always remember when Ebenezer Baptist Church, Milford, OH chartered a bus along with several carloads to go to Illinois to surprise John when he preached his first sermon. We all appreciated his singing and playing at special events and especially for homegoing services. Blake and kids, we feel your heart's pain and will continue to pray for you all! Jonathan was the first person to welcome us to the neighborhood when we moved into house across the street. He was a good neighbor and ministered to my husband at the end of his life.
Rest in peace!!!
Belinda and I are so deeply saddened by the loss of our dear brother and friend. We will ever cherish the memory of the week we spent together in Louisiana, with Jonathan preaching at our church, and the time he and Blake spent with us traveling through Louisiana. What a powerful, dynamic preacher and talent Jonathan is for the Lord. We rejoice in the simple truth that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living; and the absolute assurance that we will be united again.
We are sorry for your loss. Our thoughts & Prayers are with Blake & the Family.God Bless. From Lonnie & Gale.
Wow! I met John and Blake back in the 70s in Knob Noster, MO through my brother Purvis(Link)....John was one you just didn't forget...he left a lasting impression with his devotion to God, his gifts and talent and his awesome sense of humor.

Jon was a friend and truly an inspiration to all. I have some very fond memories of him starting in 3rd grade when I first moved to Milford. Jon and his siblings were a fixture at VBS every year at the little Church I attended and was next door to his home. In high school we had some great memories together on the football field and basketball court. I'm sorry that throughout the years we didn't have closer contact and remain more in touch. I will miss him dearly and am glad that I had the opportunity to visit wit him in 2019 at the MHS Class of 69 fifty year reunion. May the family find comfort in the blessing he provided and the fact that he is reunited with his parents and brothers in the presence of The Heavenly Father that he served so diligently. Robert (Bob) Spahr
Blake and family we are saddened to learn of your loss but rejoicing to know that John has joined the church triumphant in Heaven. You will all be remembered in our prayers. We are so glad the Lord allowed us to meet you and have you as neighbors and friends in the ministry. May the peace of God fill you for the days ahead. Many blessings. Pastor Roland and Kathy Moore.
My family and I spent several years under the pastoral direction of Mr. Jonathan he was very insightful and knowledgeable kind and welcoming
He will be missed... My prayers go out to the Gordon Family Nikki Heard
A great light has left this dark world and is now in the presence of Jesus Christ, the Saviour that this precious brother lived for, preached, and sang about.
Glory!
It won't be long till we are all together.
His love, joy, passion for Christ and His word touched countless lives. His reward is certainly great.
John was not only my cousin but one of my best friends. He and I shared playing music at Ebenezer Baptist Church for 50 years. John and I have an special bond. That I will cherish it, we love playing music for the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank bro for Memories, until we can play together in heaven. Carl Hamilton

We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, mentor, soldier of the Lord, dedicated preacher of the Word, who had a passion for people that were lost and needed help serving the Lord. He is a true blessing from God. We will miss you deeply.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this difficult time. John was a good man and will truly be missed.
Bridgette, I am so sorry for the loss of your Father. I remember you saying how funny he was during our trip to NOLA. God bless you Sandz.

How I will miss Jonathan. The kindest, most honest, God fearing man I have ever worked with.
He adored his family! We shared stories of early years in the military and how he and Blake struggled just like my husband and I had. I still cannot eat a pot pie and I think Blake can relate to that!
His love and devotion to his children and grandchildren was fun to see. He would light up as he shared their many accomplishments. Yet, he would have loved them the same if there weren't any.
I will be praying for you all during this difficult time. I know our Heavenly Father will be near you all as you honor and say goodbye to your dear loved one.
You have my heartfelt condolences. I am a better me for working next to my friend!
I was there, along side Elder Haygood, in Missouri...we had great fellowship and ministered in music together. I loved me some Jonathan (...actually called him John) and Blake and Jamie and Bridgette....this is really hard...:musical_keyboard::musical_note::musical_score:....
My Uncle Jon was one of the sharpest dressers I have ever seen. He and my dad, Galen, have always reminded me of one another. He could really fill up a room with his laughter and booming personality. I will miss him. I know we all will. I am sending prayers to everyone. -Kemijah Gordon

Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bellbrook Ohio purchased the
Divine Peace Bouquet for the family of Jonathan Gordon.
My heart was broken when I received word of the passing of my dear friend, brother in Christ, and fellow pastor, Jonathan. I have known him for over 40 years. He often preached revivals at the church I pastored in West Virginia, and our people loved his preaching and singing. From time to time someone would ask, "Isn't about time to have Brother Gordon back?" I loved his joy and sincere, loving spirit, and always delightful company. Blake is such a jewel--she and Jonathan both often refreshed my spirit by their love. He loved his Lord, his precious wife and family, and his church congregation. I feel sure that he and our former professor and friend Dr. Gail Terrell, now also in heaven, will find much to talk about in the presence of our Lord Jesus.

We, the Farristown Missionary Baptist Church send our condolences, sympathies, and especially our prayers to The Jordan, The Reed, extended families, and the Cornerstone Baptist Church Family. On the different occasions Rev. Gordon and family would be in service with us with the last time being morning Guest Preacher for Rev. Ray Reed's First Year Pastoral Anniversary. He was also Rev. Reed's Brother-in-Love. During the afternoon service Rev. Gordon assisted/participated by playing the organ with the musician of the afternoon guest church. He and his family made themselves at home whenever that came our way. God bless each of you and you will be forever in His care.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jonathan. Jonathan was such a kind and thoughtful man. I really enjoyed talking to him about any and everything under the sun. His devotion to his wife and family was so beautiful. I feel so blessed to have met such an incredible person. I will never forget his impact on my life.
Bro. Gordon always greeted us with a smile, a hearty hand shake and then the serious Ohio State discussion began. He was a true & consistent man of God who used his gifts to point back to the great God he served. His witness was as big as his smile and, man, did he love Miss Blake. I will deeply miss his presence until I see him again in glory. Thanksgivings for us will never be the same. Love and condolences to the Gordon & Pearls.
We served together in the Air Force as well as sang together in our church choir. Also we formed a gospel group and was able to travel and minister on several occasions. Looking forward to one day joining you in the heavenly choir.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
