John A. Walker, Sr. was born on March 20, 1942, to the late Rev. Julian Walker Sr. and Mrs. Texanna Walker in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. John was a graduate from Kentucky State University. John A. Walker, Sr. was born on March 20, 1942, to the late Rev. Julian Walker Sr. and Mrs. Texanna Walker in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.
John was a graduate from Kentucky State University. There he joined Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. and held the title of fraternity president. He also was a member of the Masonic Community. John was heavily involved in the Cincinnati community. He taught computer classed in various communities.
John was a district 13 baseball coach, where he produced city champions for various teams. His most cherished membership was to the Methodist Community. He had a strong belief in God.
John was married to Wanda Walker in 1968. They remained married for 41 years. John has three children, Cheryl Walker of Gatlin, Tennessee; John A. Walker Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Anthony L. Walker Sr. of Columbus, Ohio.
John is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Walker; two brothers, William Walker, and Anthony Walker Sr.; one sister, Betty M. Walker; two grandsons, Tavion Walker and JaJuan Hollerman.
John A. Walker Sr. departed this life and entered the loving arms of the Lord on December 17, 2022, at the age of 80.
John leaves to cherish his memory; brother, Charles Walker; three children, Cheryl Walker, John A. Walker Jr., and Anthony L. Walker Sr.; grandchildren, Laronte Hill, Teona Britton, Aaliyah Britton, Teaerra Walker (Tirado), Anthony L. Walker Jr., Jay Johnna Walker, Tyanne Walker, John A. Walker III., Tashoni Walker, Antonashia Walker, Storm Walker Crook, Anyshia Walker, Aleigha Walker, Asia Sams, and Alexus Walker; great grands, Christopher Hill, Jailynn Hollerman, Kobeyon Cagle, Keiyon Cagle, Quadir Hill, Giannis Meneese, Denzel Tirado Jr., Gizelle Tirado, Corzel Tirado, Barshae Green, Harmony Green, Emberly Walker, and Anthony Walker III.; nephew, Julian A. Walker III.; nieces, Katrina Walker (Ralph) and Carolyn Walker (Gordon); great nephews, Preston Ralph and Ashton Ralph; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
