This is a post no grandmother would ever want to post. I've posted about my granddaughter Jasmine for years trying to sing her accomplishments and let everyone know how proud I was to be your Mema Jasmine. My heart is broken in so many pieces. As I sat with you and watched you fight so hard as you have your whole life, I am going to miss you baby girl in your 22 years you accomplished all your goals quickly because you knew your time would be short. You graduated Magna Cum Laude, and in one year completed your Masters degree with a 4.0 I'm so glad I got to tell you that before you left us. So no good byes baby girl only see you later. I love you!!!

Fwd: Growing up, I didn’t have many cousins who were close to my age. So you can imagine the excitement on my face whenever my parents would tell me that Jasmine was coming to visit. Of course, my other family members would come too, and I love them dearly. But, all I could think about was how much fun Jasmine and I were going to have. I used to bring out my sleeping bags and extra pillows because I knew we would have sleepovers every night. We would laugh and play all night. Well, at least until one of our parents popped in to tell us to go to bed. Jasmine and I were inseparable. And it felt so nice to have a built-in best friend. One thing about Jasmine that I will never forget, is how she would get emotional whenever it was time for her to go back to Cincinnati. I would always try to hold strong and reassure her that we’d see each other again soon. But, I’d find myself tearing up along with her. It wasn’t because she was crying too. It was because her tears showed me how much she loved me. That’s what Jasmine was all about. Love. She wore her heart on her sleeve and she wasn’t afraid to express how much she cared about someone or something. As we grew up, we didn’t see each other as much. But hearing about how her experiences in college and about how involved she was would always put a smile on my face because I knew she was doing what she does best: spreading love. I am heartbroken that I have lost my cousin and dear friend and I am sad that I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to her. But, I know I should take my own advice that I gave to her so when we’re little and parting ways before: “Its okay. We’ll see each other again.” Love you forever, Jasmine. Say hello to Grandma Pokie for me. -Morgan

Shalom Larry, Larisa and Family- It was with great sadness that I learned of Jasmine's death a few days ago. Larisa... Larry... It was my abundant pleasure to have had the precious opportunity to hear about so many of her surpassing-excellence achievements, via her proud parents, as we worked together as teachers many years ago. I am honored to have met her during a couple of school-related activities in which we as teachers participated. You, Larry and Larisa , remain fondly in my professional memories as a beautifully "simpatico" married team. It is no small wonder that Jasmine would grow into such a beautiful--from her spirit radiating outward--young woman, full of humanity, intelligence, talent, and commitment to attaining excellence: so many of her attributes were clearly rooted in her parents. I am beyond sorry for your extreme loss. As I discover how Jasmine touched and positively altered the life's experiences of countless others in innumerable ways, I know that she will live on through and within these lives. Such is the true beauty of a blessed destiny, enduring even after mortal life has been cut short. And, perhaps this is calculus for the soul: long after you and I pass away, and for as long as this present world exists, some exquisite way in which Jasmine impacted the life of another--within the short span of her lifetime--will remain... and bear abundant fruit.

I am so sad by the loss of Jasmine. She was one of my all time favorite students an all around amazing person. She was bright, witty and such a great human being. It just doesn’t seem possible that she is gone. Prayers for her family, friends and all the many people she touched with her sense of humor and her heart.

Jasmine was a beautiful girl, inside and out. She was one of the few friends I kept from school, a great friend. Music was the greatest component in our bond and those songs will hold a deeper meaning when they play now. My condolences to her family,
