I knew her as Ms. Gaines, and she was one of my favorite teachers at Woodlawn Wayne and Robert E Lewis Intermediate School (RELIS). She fostered a love of learning and encouraged us to be our best.

Jackie Gaines (as I knew her) was a teacher on the B-2 team at RELIS the year RELIS opened. She had an infectious laugh and often let me “help”with her reading groups.
