Janet Josephine Barber was born to the union of the late Louis Barber Sr. and Ethel Josephine Barber in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 22, 1940.
Janet was raised in the West End and East Walnut Hill and graduated from Withrow High School in 1959. After graduating, Janet worked a short time at the Christ Hospital where Fannie Embry introduced Janet to the love of her life Ray Sellers. They were married 59 years until she was called home. From this union their daughter Angela was born. She later worked and retired from U.S. Playing Cards after 45 years.
Janet joined Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized under the Rev. B.W. Smith. Janet loved helping and took pleasure in serving people and formed her own “Ministry on Wheels”. Traveling, Shopping, playing the lottery and walking were some of the activities Janet enjoyed. She loved to be surrounded by friends and family.
Janet was preceded in death by her brother; Louis (Lois) Barber.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her husband Ray Sellers, daughter; Angela (Daniel/Ken) Cherry, sister; Joann Barber and brother; Eddie L. Barber, a special nephew, Anthony (Sheila) Barber, niece; Tawana (Greg) Clark, God-daughter; Kim Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
