Rev. James E. Mobley, age 90, of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, passed away on March 21, 2021 from complications of Dementia.
James is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Walton) Mobley, his daughter Sheryl (Doug) Mobley Brown, his grandchildren: Allyson (Justin) Fru, Gary (Valerie) Davis, Ra’shawn (Zyanya) Brown, James A. Mobley, Jr., Alexis Mobley, and Moriah Brown, his great grandchildren: Alana Davis, Joshua Fru, Theodore Fru, Olivia Davis, and Leia Fru, his brother Dennis (Maxine) Mobley, his in-law’s: Joyce (John) Mobley, Ross (Laurie) Gantt, Mike (Christine) Gantt, Roslyn (Rufus) Gantt-Simmons, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son James A. (Tony) Mobley Sr., his parents John A. and Janie (nee Roseberry) Mobley, Sr., his siblings John A. (Joyce) Mobley, Jr., Clifford (Betty) Mobley, Charles Mobley, Dorothy Bowman and his in-laws Roscoe and Esther Gantt.
James was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran of the Korean War. Additionally, he was a Freemason, a former mayor of Lincoln Heights for four terms and the first Black ordained Deacon in Southern Ohio of the Episcopal Church.
Services will be held at 9:30 on April 17th,2021 at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio.
