Howard Alexander Dixon “Spooky” was born on September 13, 1943, to Willa Mae Dixon and the late William Alexander. He grew up in Walnut Hills, attended Windsor Elementary School and graduated from Withrow High School in 1961. Following his graduation from Withrow High School he entered the U.S. Navy and 4 years later received an Honorable Discharge.
After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for several years at General Motors. When General Motors closed their plant, he trained for and pursued a career as a Respiratory Therapist. He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at St Elizabeth and Deaconess Hospitals until his retirement.
In 2013 he married his longtime love Renee Means, who preceded him in death. Spooky, also known as “HAD2”, had the purest heart and he loved his family, good people, good food, and living a good life. His favorite pastimes were fishing and gaming at the Casino.
Spooky was preceded in death by his father William Alexander and wife Renee Means Dixon. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Willa Mae Bolden, four children Lisa Youngblood (Randall), Lionrick Bolar (Roslyn), Rhea Posey, Joshua Brandy and stepson Damon Means, five grandchildren Roman Marichal Hill Sr., Dominque Anthony Hill Sr., Gabrielle Bolar, DeVauna Lee Bolar, and Nathaniel Brandy, five sisters Gail Dean, Valita Karen Spears, Gina Williams, Robin Gay (Kevin), Vicky Pye, two brothers Ron Staples and Shane Pye (Ava), Cincinnati and a stepbrother Jymi Bolden (Lin).
Spooky will be missed by “The Cousins Dinner Group” Teri, Babs, Wiley (Andrea), Angel, Robin, along with our honorary cousins who just wanted to hang out with him, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, fishing and gym buddies.
