Helen L. Furlow was born in Beatrice, Alabama on October 23, 1938.
Helen was Henry Furlow’s loving wife and they married on November 22, 1958-66 years. Helen moved to Cincinnati, Ohio after completing High School. Helen was a remarkable woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. As a mother, she was the heart of the family, always putting the needs of her children and loved ones before her own. Her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and boundless compassion shaped the lives of all who knew her. Her nurturing hands and loving heart created a home filled with warmth and laughter.
She taught us the true meaning of unconditional love, patience, and kindness. Her strength, both in times of joy and hardship, was an inspiration to all. Helen worked at Christ Hospital, Drake Memorial Hospital, Brookdale Place, Assisted Senior Living & Professional Maintenance of Cincinnati, Incorporation. She enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, bowling, and playing cards. She enjoyed going to River Downs, Bingo. Bid Whist card games are truly a favorite.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Rosie Dubose, all her siblings, Eddie Clarence Dubose, Jr., Jeanette Dubose Gadson, Roosevelt Dubose, Arleathia Dubose Richardson, Charlie B. Dubose, James Dubose, Ernest Leon Dubose, Willie M. Salter, and Etta Dubose; granddaughter-in-law, Chelsey Rayford; and great granddaughter, Angel S. Louis.
She leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband, Henry Furlow; sister, Rosetta Dubose Williams (Fred); 2 daughters, Loretta Johnson (Stanley) and Vivian Haynes (Vernon); 3 grandsons, Anthony R. Louis II (Kennyetta), Andre L. Louis (Marie), and Eliot Xavier Rayford; 12 great grandchildren, Andre L. Jr., Dreyana M. Louis, Makhyri E. Louis, Mazhaiyri K. Louis, Mazaileie A. Louis, Leilani H. Louis, Azaio K. Louis, Landyn Rayford, Zoey Rayford, Chrysette Rayford, and Sonnie Rayford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as other living relatives and friends.
