Harvey Carson was born on October 4, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Lillie B. and Howard Jones Carson. From an early age, Harvey was known for his warm spirit, quiet strength, and deep sense of family and community.
During his early childhood years, he attended New Unity Baptist Church on Sixth Street Hill, under the leadership of the late Reverend H. A. Freeman. This was a guiding light throughout his life, shaping his values and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Harvey received his education through the Cincinnati Public School system and proudly graduated from Withrow High School. He went on to build a successful career at Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently for 25 years before retiring. His work ethic and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Harvey was a man of many passions. One of his greatest joys was the game of chess. He not only found personal fulfillment in playing but also took great pride in teaching the game to a few of his granddaughters, instilling in them patience, strategy, and the joy of learning.
Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma Carson; his cherished sister, Barbara Jean Edwards; and his precious grandchild, Brittany Jackson. Though their absence was deeply felt, Harvey carried their memories with grace and strength.
