On March 13, 1951, in Cincinnati Ohio, the lovingly adorable Gregory Willingham was born to his proud parents, Mother Pauline Willingham, father Maple Battle and Grand Mother Josephine (More) Willingham. Gregory was the eldest of 4 on his mother’s side of the family and was the youngest of his fathers’ children.
Gregory very much carried the mantle of the elder sibling to Robert Daryl Willingham, (Surviving Brother) Michael Willingham (Preceded in Death), and Sharon Willingham (Surviving Sister). Gregory was blessed to have had the privilege of having his Grandmother, (whom he loving called Momma) play a major role in his upbringing. Gregory grew up in Avondale and graduated from Hughes high school in 1971. Gregory is an outstanding cook of international cuisine, a skilled contractor who contributed to building many iconic structures downtown and throughout the city of Cincinnati. Gregory worked for many years as the Forman of People Working Cooperatively. He attended Morris Brown University with a major of Theology and later acquired his CDL’s and drove Semi-trucks for Swift. Gregory was filled with joy and had a gift of being able to make anyone smile in any situation and his laughter was infectiously contagious.
Gregory leaves to cherish his memory five children Shawnte’-Amoure Simmons (daughter), Deshawn Gregory Willingham (son), Ladawn Felicia Willingham (Daughter), Onjule Denise Wooten (daughter) and son in law Alex Wooten, Pauline Joi Williams (daughter) and son in law Damien Williams. Special Mention Frank Willingham-Cook (Stewnie); Twenty-four grandchildren: Marckus Jemal McDaniel, Shacoria A.J. McDaniel, Mykelle Djimond McDaniel, Dalesha Montgomery, Tyesha Willingham, Markeith Willingham, Taiya Williams, Donaisa Lynch, Emari Lynch, Khalis Brown, Fajr Williams, Sadiyah Williams, Jamila Williams, Inari Williams, Deshawn Willingham, Deon Willingham, Aaron Willingham, Deshawna Willingham, Arianna Willingham, Onjule Willingham, Keyara Willingham, Mekhia Willingham, Alex Wooten III, and twenty-one Great-grandchildren; Brother Robert Daryle Willingham; Sister Sharon Denise Willingham; and Former Wife of 40 Plus years Sharon Denise Simms.
