Gregory Keith Phillips of Forest Park, Ohio, was born December 30, 1962 to Gloria (Cottrell) and Edward “Bill” Phillips. He was baptized into the Catholic religion and attended St. Martin de Pores school and church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio.
His love of football began at an early age where he excelled as running back for the Tomahawks and continued his passion during his four-year educational career at Roger Bacon High School.
Following graduation, Gregory attended Miami University where he majored in engineering, pledged Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and married. Of this union, he was blessed with one daughter, Maria.
Gregory later pursued a career in the Armed forces, enlisting in the United States Army in 1988 stationed in California, where he was honorably discharged after receiving a Sharp Shooter Badge and an Army Service Ribbon.
Gregory returned to Miami/Oxford area where he established a lengthy career at the Square D company. He later took a job at Bar Chemical company and married. Of this union, Gregory was again blessed with a daughter, Nicole. Greg loved fishing, gardening and movie night with his daughter, Nicole.
Preceding him death are his parents, Edward and Gloria Phillips; grandparents, Grace and Richard Cottrell and Vivian and Edward S. Phillips; and aunt, Carolyn Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio.
He leaves to cherish two daughters, Maria (Magee) and Nicole Phillips; two step children, Alex and Patrick Blanchard; two grandchildren, Dominic and Leilani Magee; four brothers, Michael A. Phillips, Robert C. Phillips (Barbara nee), Kenneth Phillips of North Carolina and Christopher Phillips; one sister, Dianne (Holcomb); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved fraternity brothers.
