Gloria Jean Duncan

Gloria Jean Duncan was born March 15, 1949, in Thomson, Georgia, to Ben and Eloise White. Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, Gloria was the oldest of two daughters. She graduated from the Rayen Highschool in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1967 and furthered her education at Choffin School of Nursing.
She was a dedicated and passionate surgical nurse. Because of her friendly and courteous nature, she was admired by doctors, fellow nurses and coworkers. She worked in the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, operating room for 18 years and the VA Medical Center operating room in Cincinnati, Ohio for 30 years.

Gloria was a devoted loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother of five children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Gloria was a beautiful and selfless person who would give you her last if she thought you needed it. Her greatest treasure was to be kind to others and make sure everyone had what they needed. Her warm heart, wisdom, and grace blessed everyone around her.

Gloria enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, making hats, scarfs and baby blankets for her family. She even made masks. But most of all, she cherished her relationship with God and her family.

Gloria became a member of New Life Temple Church on March 10, 2009. She graduated from the Solid Rock Foundational classes and participated in the New Life Temple Care Group and Prayer meetings. Gloria enjoyed quietly working behind the scenes. She ordered flowers and sent condolences, acknowledgments, and birthday cards to members of her church family.

Gloria departed this life on Monday, February 1, 2021, and is now in the loving arms of our heavenly Father. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Eloise White and her sister Barbara Ann Moore.

Forever cherishing fond memories are her children: Nechelle Dixon (Jerome), Juanita White, Charles Duncan (Yolanda), Nicole Duncan, and Natalie Duncan. Grandchildren – Niaisha Duncan, Cierra Duncan, Natasha Duncan, Rashad Duncan, King Deshaun Duncan, Deaisha Jackson, Charles Xavier Duncan. Great grandchild- Yazmin Winter Duncan. Nephews – Louis Conyer III and Lamont Moore Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
