Gilbert Brown Jr., affectionately known as “Gil/Son” was born in White Plains, GA on June 13, 1938, to the late Gilbert Brown Sr., and Rowena Brown. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Brown Sr., Mother, Rowena Brown, Son, Jay Brown, and Sister Diana Brown.
Gil was the only child to Rowena, and the oldest child of Gilbert Brown Sr.
Although Gilbert was born in White Plains, GA, he was raised in the West End area of Cincinnati, OH where he attended Bloom and Central High School. He excelled in academics, gymnastics, and basketball.
Gil married Sara Jean/Jeanie where they had 3 handsome sons, Jay, Marvin, and Wendell.
Gil loved sports, especially baseball and football where his favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals. He also played fast pitch softball from the age of 19 to 55. One of the teams he traveled and played with was the TriState Auction soft ball team! And to everyone’s surprise he also was an avid hockey player.
Gil started his career at Fuller Ford, where he later took his amazing salesman and management skills to Courtesy Chevrolet, Woeste Beechmont Auto Porche/Audi dealerships.
During his retirement Gil enjoyed time with the grandkids and keeping his home and yard pristine.
Gil leaves behind to cherish in his memory: Jay L. Brown (Luvetta), Wendell Brown Jr. (Sherrie), Marvin Brown. Siblings: Leida Brown, Carolyn Brown, Cathy Brown, Marie Brown, Sam Brooks, Tom Brooks, Joe Brooks, Henry Brooks, Jerry Brooks, Williams Brown.
He also leaves behind the love of his life Wanda Broach, and her three children that he loved like his own, Eboni Miles (Niles), Dwight Jackson, Mahogany Broach (Keanna Moore). Grandchildren: Autumn Brown, Wendell J. Brown, Jr., Michael Shaw, Michelle Shaw, Dwight Jackson, and De’Moni Jackson. Great Grandchild: Caiden Carroll. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends that he loved dearly.
