She is survived by her loving children, Greta O’Neal, Yahseleh Yisrael and Evajean O’Neal; her siblings, Fannie Smith and Charlie Robb, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. My heart was felt so heavy when I heard Ms. Gertrude had passed. I will miss her beautiful smile and her loving spirit. I spoke with her about a month ago. She had called to check on my dad and our family. She always kept in touch with us after my mom passed. Her and my mom were best friends. They exchanged birthday gifts with each other every year for as long as I can remember.
I fondly remember the first time I met Ms. Gertrude. Her family had just moved in their house near the store on the corner of Blair Ave. and Woodburn Ave. She was so friendly and sweet. My condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the family. God Bless you all and take comfort in knowing that my family will always love and cherish the times we shared with her.
