Prayers. May God bless you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding. Love & prayers. Sis. O. Crooks
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Gert. My condolences and prayers to the family. I talked with her a couple weeks ago and she was her same loving “matter of fact” self, which I loved. Although we didn’t talk often, when we did our conversations never missed a beat. I will miss her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. May God continue to strength you.
Love,
Yvonne Allen-Smith

I met Mrs. O’Neal when I first became friends with her daughter, Greta. Not a moment had ever gone by that she was more proud of her children. Her stalwart faith remains the backbone of her family. And although she’s gone from sight, she will never, ever depart from the hearts and minds of those who loved her deeply. You will be missed, but I’m honored to have known you! Blessings. My heart was felt so heavy when I heard Ms. Gertrude had passed. I will miss her beautiful smile and her loving spirit. I spoke with her about a month ago. She had called to check on my dad and our family. She always kept in touch with us after my mom passed. Her and my mom were best friends. They exchanged birthday gifts with each other every year for as long as I can remember.
I fondly remember the first time I met Ms. Gertrude. Her family had just moved in their house near the store on the corner of Blair Ave. and Woodburn Ave. She was so friendly and sweet. My condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the family. God Bless you all and take comfort in knowing that my family will always love and cherish the times we shared with her.
Lovingly,
Donna and Gregory Stewart &
Donald C. Lattimore and Family
I remember my Grandma Mary B. Steward used to talked about before she had any children, she raised Gerta, Fanny, and Queen. Also, I remembered when we went to Cincinnati, OH and rode with her, and Ralph and went to a Family Reunion. I forgot what year it was. I am going to miss her smile.
Oh, how those beautiful memories have been in my head for the last week or so, and are still there. Thank you Thomas,Greta,Lottie Lee, and Ashon for keeping me informed of her condition daily. Like you said Ashon, all we have to do, is stay in The Lord, and we will see Her again. I Love You Family and may GOD Bless You All.
