George Washington Bradley was preceded in death and born to Alonzo L. Sr. and Nancy B. Bradley on May 26, 1939. George graduated from Central High School in June of 1957, he later attended and graduated from American Institution of Banking, and University of Cincinnati Evening College for Accounting and was certified as a Public Housing Manager.
He met the love of his life, Betty Jean (Mitchell) Bradley at the Pig SkIn Preview at Central High School (now known as Cincinnati State College) in 1960. They were engaged and then married on June 12, 1965. The pride of his life, and the only child born to this union is daughter Shawn Denise (Bradley) Crosby who was born in 1971. George loved Christ, his wife, daughter, family and friends in that order. He was full of life, laughter and never met a stranger. He was named Ambassador of Goodwill and wore that title every day of his life. If you knew him, you knew that he lived and loved to help others, he had a permanent smile on his face and never complained about anything. George believed that a closed hand cannot receive or give. He always said this prayer, “GOD, Our Father, if it is YOUR will, walk through my house and take away all my worries and illnesses. Please watch over and heal my family. In Jesus name. Amen”. If you asked him how he was doing, he would say I’m doing great and on his bad days he would say I’m doing fair.
George proudly served and was honorably discharged from the US Army and Army Reserve as a Specialist E-5. He began his career as a bank teller at the Provident Bank from 1957-1968. George received a congratulatory award from former Ohio Representative William L Mallory and Speaker of the House Charles Kurfess in 1967 for the friendly courtesy he displayed in his relationship with the customers. He then worked the next 28 years at the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) and later retired in 1995.
George served as Past Vice President and Executive Board Member of the Ohio Valley Chapter of N.A.H.R.O, Board Member of Mental Health Service Northwest, Advisory Board Member of the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, Member of the Schwab Middle School Advisory Council, and CMHA Focus and Work Order committees.
