Our beloved George Leo Beatty IV, 48 Cincinnati, Ohio tragically passed away on June 3, 2025.
George was born on February 12, 1977, at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio to George Leo Beatty III and Sharon L Beatty. George’s family referred to him as “baby George “or “curious George” due his curiosity and many adventures. George, along with his mother Sharon and sisters, Gina, Kara and Leia relocated to North Rosedale Park in the Detroit Metropolitan area when he was about 7 years old. He adjusted well to his new neighborhood and friends and enjoyed riding go-carts, popping wheelies on his bike and break dancing with his big sister Kara. Sometimes he would stray far from home, taking along his baby sister Leia. Once they got lost at a park one day but fortunately traced their route back home. George even excelled academically at his new school Cook Elementary becoming the Spelling Bee district champion in 5th grade.
During his adolescent years George struggled a bit due to some challenges and unfortunately ended up incarcerated for a long period of time. Despite this major setback, George earned his high school diploma and maintained close ties with his family. Our family albums are filled with funny letters signed with his closing line “Peace Out Love Ya”! In 2005 George was so happy to be reunited with his mother and whom he fondly referred to as ‘Champers” as well as the rest of his family. He enjoyed laid back family gatherings listening to music and eating his favorite food (ribs & greens). Eventually George did obtain employment in Michigan, a driver’s license, a new car and an apartment.
In 2019, George decided to relocate back to Cincinnati, Ohio and there started a janitorial business named “Mr. Moppi”. He enjoyed spending time with his father George III, especially playing chess with him. He loved spending time with his brother Gino and hanging out with cousin Monty. George also became a pretty good cook and loved to cook greens, salmon and fried chicken. His big sister Gina reports that he’d become obsessed with jerk seasoning and sent her a video of his creation (jerk chicken and jerk collard greens). Recently George became interested in computers, telling his
mom “Champs, I think I want to get into IT like you, your job seems cushy”! He loved smoking his black and mild’s, drinking cognac and driving his Durango leaning all the way back. The family laughed because riding in the car with George was like being on a roller coaster, going 90 mph while watching TikTok on his phone! Scary! Just like those childhood adventures, there was never a dull moment with George!
George was a protector of his mother and sisters; he loved his family and was deeply loyal. Although he displayed a tough exterior, he was sensitive soul with a big heart and the best intentions. Everyone loved him. He was funny, extremely bright and stayed the same no matter what.
George is survived by his mother Sharon Beatty, father George Beatty III (Linda) sisters Gina Beatty, Kara Hollingsworth (Yolyn), Leia Glenn (Andre), Mia Beatty, Misha Beatty and brother Gino Freeman. Nephews: Christian Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Caleb Ballard, Asa Hollingsworth, Malachi Holeman, and Zavion Freeman. Nieces: Gabrielle Hollingsworth and Carolyn Ballard. Great nephews Kameryn Wallace, Isaiah Wallace, and Jonah Wallace. Great Nieces Gracie Wallace, Kenzie Wallace and Rylei Ballard. George leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Special mentions to his aunt Pattie (Toledo, Ohio) and aunt/cousin Donna and Sissy whom he loved to spend time with.
George is preceded in death by his brother Christian Lancaster Beatty, Grandparents; George Leo Beatty II, Marie Beatty, Vernon Page and his beloved Freddie Mae Lancaster “Mama Freddie” who he had a close relationship with. Uncle Howard Beatty and Aunt Janis Beatty.
George will be remembered most for his determination in the face of many challenges. He was dealt some hard knocks early in life, but he continually kept trying to better himself. George will be remembered for his hugs, funny jokes, and always being there for his family.
We love you so much George and if you didn’t know it, we are so proud to call you our son, brother, uncle. There’s no one who can ever replace your love and light in our lives. Our hearts are forever broken as we see your face and hear your voice in everything. Please come to our window and send us a sign that you are at peace watching over us.
Love you, our precious Baby George
