Frances C. Rocquemore

Frances Christina “Penny” Rocquemore, born Frances Christina Ligon on December 25, 1947, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 78.

Frances was 1 of 11 children born to Frank and Gladys Ligon, who preceded her in death. Brothers Harold and Sylvester and sisters Marion and Sherri preceded her in death. Cherishing her memory are her sisters Cassandra (Midge), Gladys (Petey), Anita (Nickey), Valerie (Val), Regina (Gina), Lelia (Lee).

Penny was a devoted and faithful Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by her deep love for the Lord and for her family. She cherished her nearly 60-year marriage to her beloved husband, Tony Rocquemore, with whom she built a life filled with faith, commitment, and enduring companionship.

A loving mother, Penny is survived by her daughter, Rene Beatty (Robert) and her son, Anthony Rocquemore. (Stacey). She took immense pride and joy in her 7 grandchildren -Karis, Ka`lah, Tyler, Kourtni, Zion, Robert Jr. and Kassidy; and her 3 great-grandchildren -Vincent Jr. (Vino), Levi, and Zarah who were the light of her life and the recipients of her boundless affection, wisdom, and warmth.

Penny touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith, by her ministry at President Drive Church of Christ, and as a passionate and dedicated teacher for more than 30 years. She was deeply loved by her family and so many others who were drawn to her gentle spirit, her joyful heart, and her steadfast devotion to those she held dear. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is now in the loving arms of her Savior, forever at peace.
