Fannie Lee Anderson (Darden), daughter of the late Edward Stacey Darden and Mary Frances Darden, was born on June 3, 1946 in Mercer, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Darden (Sandra).
Fannie was an avid reader and a gifted poet, recognized as a poet laureate in the mid-1980s. In the late 1970s, she founded a youth organization along with three drill teams, and in the early 1980s, she managed the breakdancing group, Tic-A-Tron. Fannie accepted Christ at an early age, and although health challenges in recent years prevented her from attending services regularly, her faith remained strong.
She retired from Procter & Gamble after 27 years of dedicated service. She later worked for Duke Energy, where she retired after five years, officially concluding her professional career in 2017. Fannie’s beautiful smile and selfless spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply cherished and greatly missed.
Fannie quietly departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her loving children: daughter, Deanna (Anthony) Wyche; sons, Stacey (Melissa) Darden and Jefferson Alexander Darden; and daughter, Shannon (Daryl) Anderson-Hammond. She also leaves to cherish her memory fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
