Evelyn Virginia Mapp “Puddin” was born in Winterville,
Georgia on August 2, 1947 to Charlie and Elizabeth
Mapp whom preceded her in death. She spent most of her
life in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Samuel Ach and
Hughes High School where she graduated in 1966. After
graduating, she started working at Bethesda Oak where
many people remember her inviting smile as a cashier.
After Bethesda closed, she went on to work at Good
Samaritan Hospital where she retired.
Puddin enjoyed and loved family. She always wanted to
be surrounded by her family. She knew everybody on
both sides of the family, so any history you needed to
know, she was the historian.
Puddin recently fell ill, but was recovering and rehabilitating
when she was suddenly called home. She leaves
behind: her loving and devoted daughter, Takisha Mapp;
two grandchildren, Nathalie and Noel Mapp whom she
adored and loved dearly; sister, Betty Hawkins; brother,
Bennie Mapp (Christine); sister-in-laws, Louise Mapp and
Carol Jean Chambers; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas
Mapp.
