Evelyn L. Johnson was born to Conrad and Rosalee Cornett Johnson on July 17, 1940 in Monongahela Hospital, New Eagle, Pennsylvania. On this day, August 3, 2017, she was called home to rest with the Lord.
After graduating from Monongahela High School in 1959, Evelyn relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. There she worked in various jobs before landing her final job at Longview Hospital where she worked until she retired. She dedicated the rest of her life caring for displaced and abused children.
During her 77 years, Evelyn met many people who touched her life in a beautiful way. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family and friends. She received joy by pampering herself with shopping and keeping herself well-groomed with the latest fashion designs.
At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and she was very active in her church where she provided musical support and services. Evelyn spent much of her time worshipping God and later in life she became an Evangelist.
She is survived by one son, Michael A. Johnson (Yolanda); daughter Lisa M. Johnson; four Grandchildren, T’Keyah Johnson, Michael D. Johnson, Markcus A. Johnson, and A’va A. Harris. Sisters, Armorita Johnson Horner and Deborah A. Carter; Brother, Alfred Johnson (Yoshiko); and a Special Cousin, Donna Cannon and Devoted Friends; Momma Judy, Marie Robinson, Nancy Hendrickson and Deborah Leathers along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins and close family friends, all of who loved and cared for her very much and will truly miss her.
During her remaining years, she continued to try to live her life to the fullest by obtaining all the necessary care to sustain her life. Eventually, she was relocated to her son and daughter-in-law’s home where she lived out the remaining years of her life.
