Eula W. Jones was born on September 30, 1924 in Griffin, Georgia. Out of seven child-ren, she was the last child to be born to the marriage union of Amanda and Doc Williams.
She departed this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Montgomery Care Center Rest Home.
Eula started school in Griffin, Georgia. She also attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She married Charles R. Jones, Sr. and out of this union there were seven children. Their names are: Shirley, Charles Jr., Stella, Donald, Christopher, Anthony and Iris Jones.
Eula was a constant community volunteer. She served with the PTA, girl scouts, boy scouts, cub scouts and church organizations. For over 10 years, she canvassed for the American Cancer Society, to raise money for medical research. She also worked in the neighbor-hood voting polls precincts for the Board of Elections for over 25 years. Many times she recruited and encouraged others to be a part of the election process, as well.
Charles R. Jones, Sr., Shirley Mathews, Donald and Anthony Jones and her father and mother, Doc and Amanda Williams and all six of her sisters and brothers, preceded her in death.
Eula leaves to cherish her memory: sons and daughters, Charles R. Jones, Jr., Stella Jones Tooson, Christopher Jones and Iris Montgomery; 31 grandchildren and two great-grand-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
