A loving husband, father and grandfather, Eugene Myles was born May 19, 1948 from the union of Clyde and Gladys Myles in Cairo, Georgia. During his youth, he confessed his life to Christ. He came to Covington, Kentucky at an early age to visit his relatives and find work. He later enlisted in active duty with the United States Army in 1967. He served for 2 years and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal for wounds received while in Vietnam.
He returned to Covington after his Honorable Discharge from the service, where he met and married Pearlene Webb. To this union, five children were born. He worked at Interlake/Newport Steel for 28 years until his retirement in 2007.
He leaves to mourn his passing: a devoted wife, Pearlene Myles of Elsmere, Kentucky; children, Jetaun Webb Myles of Frankfort, Kentucky, Eugene Myles, Jr. (Jin) stationed in Seoul, Korea, Shayla Myles-Aaron (Marecus Aaron) of Park Hills, Kentucky, Ebony Myles of Buffalo, Kentucky and DeShawn Myles (Claudia) of Elsmere, Kentucky; granddaughters, Anasia Webb, Anyhla Aaron and Kamilah Myles; brothers and sisters, Willie C. Myles, Clyde Myles, Jimmy Myles, Robert Myles, Gregory Myles, Howard Copeland, Seretha Montgomery, Mary Brown and Sandy Vickers, all of Cairo, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
