Ethelene Blue was born November 23, 1936 in Georgiana, Alabama. She was the oldest child born to Ethel Baggett Simpson and James Simpson.
Ethelene accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Revelation Baptist Church. She later joined Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She graduated from Hughes High School in 1956. She obtained an Associate of Arts in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science in 1996 from the University of Cincinnati. She also earned a degree in Naturopathy.
Ethelene worked at a local pharmacy in her early years and retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1999 after a long career. Throughout her career, she was involved with Toastmasters International. In retirement, she was a substitute teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools and then turned entrepreneur and opened her health food store, All About Health, Naturally.
She married Eugene Blue on November 25, 1965. From this union they were blessed with three daughters. Ethelene and Eugene had a devoted union for over 40 years.
Ethelene enjoyed reading the Bible, attending church, spending time with family, writing poetry, painting, and she had a passion for education. She was a devoted and faithful servant to the Lord. While attending Shiloh, she served as a Deaconess, Sabbath School Superintendent, and sang in the Sanctuary Choir.
Fond memories of her life will remain in the hearts of her family: daughters Tamara Blue, Eugenia Blue, Vicki (James) Rogers, granddaughters Asia~Blue Jones, Alyn Jones, Jaime Rogers, Sydney Rogers; sister Gloria (Oswald) Campbell; sister in law Ida Simpson and Lois Simpson; aunt Murl Simpson and Betty Baggett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ethelene was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Blue, mother Ethel Baggett Simpson, father James Simpson, brothers Arthur Simpson and Floyd Simpson.
