Elaine M. Henderson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio March 31, 1941 and finished her transition from earth to eternity on December 9, 2020 while in the care of Maple Knoll Village in the presence of her caregivers.
Elaine was the devoted daughter of the late Henry Harris and Pauline Hill. Elaine was united in Holy Matrimony with Leon S. Henderson on August 24, 1957 and they celebrated 59 years of love and happiness. To that union was born two sons and two daughters: Randy E. Henderson, Roxanne Henderson-Baker (Arnold), Carmen D. Henderson and Terrance L. Henderson.
She was the second of 4 children, 1 boy and 3 girls. Shirley Green-deceased, Wenfert Hill, and Deborah J. Gaines-deceased.
Sister Elaine is a member of Zion Temple First Pentecostal Church, Cincinnati, OH. She was baptized in Jesus name on January 30, 1973 and filled with the Holy Ghost on April 19, 1973. For years she served faithfully in the Mass Choir, Media Ministry and was involved in a host of other church committees until she was no longer able to attend services. However, she prayed and stayed devoted until she transitioned.
Elaine finished high school and was a hard worker. She retired from Biersdorf-Futuro formerly Jung Products in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Elaine was a devoted and loving mother who always took time to mentor, encourage and do all the motherly things for her children. There was no lack of love from Elaine. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed serving and worshipping the Lord, going to church, gardening, walking her dogs and helping others. Everyone loved being around her and she never met a stranger.
She leaves to cherish her memory 11 grandchildren; Randy Henderson Jr. (Cissy), Michael Henderson, Keiland Walker, Brandon Henderson, Joslyn Walker, Antonio Henderson, Jasmine Sutton, Deana Weaver, Byron Baker, Vittoria Henderson and Terry Smith; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, church members, and friends.
There will be a private graveside service for her at the convenience of her family. Interment Spring Grove Cemetery. Please view and sign her registry at www.thompsonhalljordan.com.
There will be a public DRIVE-THRU visitation and viewing on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 3:00pm-4:30pm at Thompson, Hall and Jordan Funeral Home, 11400 Winton Road, Forest Park. The public may view her remains from the car or stop outside to sign her register book and pay respects to the family if present, social distancing required.
