Douglas William Glanton was born on August 31, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late George and Dorothy Glanton. He was a graduate of Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati. Doug was an avid fan of hot rods and chopper motorcycles and loved to build things.
He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Betty Love, on August 28, 1971, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Glendale Ohio. They celebrated 51 years of marriage last year and countless memories together. God blessed them with two wonderful children to complete their family: Randy Glanton (spouse Teresina) and Karma Linnere (spouse Keith).
Doug’s faith was ignited when he was 40 years old through a life changing experience with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He went on to attend Temple Bible College and was an ordained minister. Doug served as an associate minister at Christ Temple Baptist Church under Reverend Peterson Mingo before answering the call to retire from Procter and Gamble and start his own church, Beyond the Veil Christian Fellowship which he would pastor for 17 years. Pastor Doug, as he would be known to those he lovingly led, went on to be a father figure to so many in need.
On Friday, April 28, Pastor Doug went home to be with Jesus. He leaves to celebrate his legacy, two children and their spouses and seven grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Betty, two brothers, three sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
