Donald Wayne Ferguson Sr.

Donald Wayne Ferguson, Sr. was born on April 13, 1948, to parents William “Billy” Ferguson and Ann Francis Garrett (Ferguson), in Mt. Sterling, KY. He departed this life, Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

He graduated from Dubois High School in 1966 and played basketball and baseball throughout his life. With the opportunity to go pro in baseball, but he decided to become a family man.

After exploring many possibilities, he settled down with Grief, Inc. but due to a severe back injury, he had to part ways with the company. This later started his journey into the janitorial field until he retired in 2003.

In 1971, Don Wayne and Sandra wed and went on to have three children.

He is preceded in death in death by his parents, William and Ann, and his brother, Jackie Ferguson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, four children Wayne Richard Thomas, Ta-Tanisha Ferguson, Donald Wayne Ferguson, Jr. (Shannon), and Danielle Nicole Hearn (Zion); grandchildren, Kionna Battle, Marquita Battle, Tatyana Battle, Shaniya Ferguson, DaJhauna Ferguson, DaShiya Ferguson, Danasia Griffin, and Kai Pankey; one brother, Lamont Johnson; two sisters, Vanessa Johnson and Gala Greene; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his Aunt Lela, and other family members and friends.
