Coach Bill Dinger left a message on March 29, 2022:
Condolences & prayers for Don & family. I coached Don n football @ Garfield H S. He was one of the best defensive tackles I’ve ever coached. He was smart and quick. One practice he was beating the offense so bad that the coach on offense said tell Don to go when the offensive lineman move, I said he is, so I to tell Don to slow down so the offense could run their play. Of course Don laugh & kept on killing them.

Sending love, prayers and condolences to the Pogue family. Donnie was the best! I will always remember the friendly banter, conversations and his cooking, especially the African Turkey.
