Maria left a message on November 19, 2020:
May God bring Don's family, strength, peace, comfort and love at this time and ease the heartache as he embarks on his next journey. A brother-in-law is someone who comes into your life and becomes your friend. There are many nice memories with Don over the decades; the best include my sister, his wife, Mira, daughters, Gabrielle, Yvonne, Rebecca and grand children spending time together as family, enjoying life. His quick humor always made someone laugh, and his kind spirit could bring about a smile in the darkest of times. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear to us. Rest in Peace Don. Sister-in-law Maria and Nephew Troy.

My deepest condolences to the family. May God bring peace, love, comfort, strength and support during this time. Don was such a special, kind, funny, loving man. He gave the tightest hugs. I can picture him enjoying his bean soup and when he was finished he would say "that tastes like more!" I will miss him along with his smile and laugh. I was blessed to be with him when he became Catholic. Don ALWAYS came to funerals within my family and he always offered love, prayers, strength and support. One of my most precious memories is when he came to my grandmother's funeral. He never missed calling me on my Anniversary. Don was a bright light in this world and a beautiful soul, and now he's an Angel watching over us. I will miss him greatly. I love you Don and I will see you again soon. God speed.
