Deborah Marie Sandipher Bowen was born on July 26, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Dorothy Gassett and Joseph Sandipher. She joined Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, in baptism, as a young girl. She was in active fellowship throughout her life, most recently as a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Debbie graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio; Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee; and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where she prepared for a successful career in mathematics and technology. She was most revered, however, as a loving wife, mother, and “Grammie”.
She leaves to celebrate her home going: devoted husband, Frank H. Bowen, Jr; cherished daughter, Dara Folden; son-in-love, Frank (Tamara) H. Bowen III; five sisters, Janet Lee, Rebecca Lee Parker, Nancy (Phillip) Ramey, Jewell (Danny) Cartwright, Quendella (James) Thomas; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
When God came to take Debbie home, he was not alone. He was assisted by a few of His glory helpers. Among them were her grandparents, James and Ida (Reed) Gassett, her mother, Dorothy Gassett Lee, her father, Joseph Sandipher, her sister, Tonia Lee, and her daughter-in-love, Angela Bowen-Boss. They welcomed her home to a celebration that never ends!
