Darryl S. Farley Sr.

Darryl Stanford Farley Sr. (Affectionately known as “Farlock” or “Sweets”) was born on June 30, 1949, to the late Gene and Marion Farley. From an early age, Darryl was known for his charisma, his strong work ethic, and his deep love for family. He attended Lincoln Heights High School, where he began developing the interests and talents that would shape his life.

Music was one of Darryl’s great passions. He toured and sang with the band M.D. Fire, sharing his voice and vibrant personality with audiences while working various jobs.

Darryl was a devoted father. He was blessed early in life with two daughters, Marcie Dyson and Bernadette Morrow, whom he loved dearly. In 1976, he married Cynthia Ann Burress, and through that union, he expanded his family with children Darryl Jr., Ulysess, Angela (Gregory) Pugh, Tiffany, Dante Sr., Corey (Rachel), Courtney, and Bianca Farley. Darryl took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, always finding joy in their accomplishments and growth. His love for his family was unmistakable and unwavering.

Darryl dedicated 25 years of faithful service to Maple Knoll Village, where he was known as a dependable, hardworking, and respected employee. His commitment and perseverance allowed him to retire with pride.

Darryl was preceded in death by his beloved “stepson,” Michael Burress; his sisters Debbie and Alawana; and his brothers Randy and Van. Though he has joined them in eternal rest, his presence remains deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother Norvell Farley, his loving children, 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched in countless ways.
