I am saddened to hear of Darren's passing. I was fortunate to get to meet him as I am the person who found his Super Bowl Ring in the sand at Mrytle Beach, SC in June, 2008, and returned it to him in Oak Hill, WV in October , 2008. He was very happy to get his ring back and came and picked it up at a Holiday Inn in Oak Hill, WV. He came with his girlfriend and they were very happy to get his ring back. I was gonna send it back to Chris Mara, the Co-Owner of NYG, but he wouldn't insure it for more than standard Fedex, so I asked Chris to get in touch with Darren and have him to pick it up in WV. I know yal miss Darren, as I have lost my 92 year old Mother in August, 2023, and we have hurt real bad from that. I am one of 12 of her children. I have been treasure hunting for 30+ years and that was my best find so far. The NYG Super Bowl Ring. God Help Your Family and Comfort yal for you loss of Darren. I just found out about your loss today and had to tell yal about finding his ring. Sincerely, Stevie White Fayetteville, WV

I coached Darren in jr. high track for 2 years during his 7th and 8th grade year. What a great kid! So so coachable and most of all likable! Darren was notorious for forgetting his track spikes and would leave them at home about 2-3 days a week. You could almost count on it. And like clock work, his Grandpa would bring him his track spikes in a Kroger bag each and every time. And he would always say to us "Don't worry coach, I'm gonna make it up to you" and boy did he! Every single time he left it all on the track. He never backed down from a tough race or challenge. In fact, he rose to the occasion against the toughest competition. He was without a doubt, one of if not THE best individual athlete I ever coached. My heart broke when I heard the news of his passing. God Speed to his family. RIP Darren.

Darren was a fine young man. My son was a team mate on the Princeton HS Football team in 2000. Darren was a credit to himself, his family and team. May God Bless.
