Daisy Catherine (Brown) Shears was born March 14, 1937, in West Enterprise, Mississippi to the late Lieutenant and Mary Brown. Daisy Catherine (Brown) Shears was born March 14, 1937, in West Enterprise, Mississippi to the late Lieutenant and Mary Brown. Daisy moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her parents and grandmother where she attended Cincinnati Public Schools. Shortly after, she married Huey Shears. In this union, they raised Aaron “Butch” Brown and Willa “Cooky” Thompson. Daisy worked at Kahn’s and Mead Paper Factory prior to finding her true calling as a certified home health aide. Daisy took care of her mother, father, grandmother, and many others before retiring. Daisy was actively pursuing a degree in theology before falling ill.
Daisy accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of New Unity Baptist Church for over 50 years. Some of the ministries Daisy was devoted to include: Sunday school teachings, missionary, bible school teachings, and a Women’s Day committee member. She loved the Lord and was proud to testify God’s goodness.
Daisy would light up any room she entered and always had a contagious smile on her face. She was a mother to all and touched many lives with her words of wisdom. On Friday, September 16, 2022 at 12:05am, Daisy was called home to be with the Lord. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.
Daisy was preceded in death by her husband Huey Shears, son Aaron “Butch” Brown, and daughter Willa “Cooky” Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Grandchildren Anthony “Tony” Brown (Chris), Robin Davis (Ryan), Trina Levins, Crystal Brown, Tia Thompson; Great grandchildren Temika Levins, Chardae “Cheri” Brown, Tori Cummings (Demitrius), Dominique Davis, Tonie Brown, Ryan “RJ” Davis Jr, Kiara Brown, Rashaud Harris Jr. Great great grandchildren; Sanai, Jesiah, Khamari, and Torin. Daisy also leaves a host of other loving relatives and friends.
