Cynthia Dianne McGinnis, a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, has bid us a fond farewell and embarked on her final journey. She passed away peacefully on July, 30, 2023, enveloped by the love of her family. Cynthia’s indomitable spirit and legacy of love continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched.
Survived by her devoted husband, Joseph N. McGinnis, Jr., Cynthia leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with care and affection. Her son Joseph N. McGinnis III, daughters Jalonda Hill and Janel Taylor, and a multitude of grandchildren, including Sedan Scott, Zion Reynolds, Sterling Hill, Chandler McGinnis, Sanii Reynolds, Joseph McGinnis IV, Skyler Hill, Finee Reynolds, Bailey McGinnis, Nori Taylor, Nova Taylor, and great-grandchildren S’Moni Scott, and Kylo Cartier, will forever cherish her profound impact.
Born to Mildred and Joe Jones, Cynthia spent her formative years in Ecorse, MI. In addition to her loving husband, Cynthia is survived by her siblings Annette Warr, Carlton Jones, Donald Jones, and Shelia Parris. She was preceded in death by her brothers Frederick and William Jones.
Cynthia’s zest for life was evident in her culinary creations that delighted family and friends, a testament to her love and care. As an esteemed member of The Red Hat Club, she relished the camaraderie and cherished moments shared with her fellow members. Penuckle nights were filled with laughter and friendly competition, reflecting Cynthia’s joyful spirit. She dedicated her time at the Senior Center, selflessly teaching the art of quilting, leaving a legacy of warmth and creativity in every stitch.
After a fulfilling career, Cynthia retired from American Airlines and Delta Airlines, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism that inspired her colleagues.
