It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecil Boger, who left us peacefully on April 26, 2025. Cecil was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose kindness, strength, and quiet warmth touched all who knew him.
Born on July 30, 1947, in Lebanon, Ohio, Cecil lived a life full of dedication, love, and quiet strength. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Boger; his children, Christina (Gordon) Bunting, Jaime (Troy) Boger, and Theresa Fogel; his grandchildren, Zoe, Zane, Josiah, Azriel, Rylenn, Everly, and Braveri; and his great-granddaughter, Renezmae.
Cecil was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cheeseman, and his stepfather Bill Cheeseman, who together played an important role in shaping the man he became.
Cecil was a longtime softball coach who had a passion for the game and a gift for teaching and inspiring others. He was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, always cheering on his teams with unwavering loyalty. He loved watching old Westerns, spending time at the casino, enjoying the excitement of the games and a nice cold beer. He also loved staying at home relaxing with his loving dog, Buddy, by his side.
Throughout his life, Cecil was blessed with deep friendships, especially with his best friends Mark and Sandy Wissel, who shared in so many of his favorite moments and memories.
His family and friends will remember him for his steady presence, his love of sports, his sense of fun, and the many life lessons he shared both on and off the field. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A service to honor Cecil’s life will be held on Friday, 05-02-2025 from 3:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at Thompson, Hall and Jordan Funeral Home. The address is 11400 Winton Rd. Forest Park, Ohio 45240. Family and friends are welcome to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well lived.
Cecil will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
