Carolyn Brown was born on November 16, 1936, to the parents of the late Floyd A. Anderson and Katherine Heard in Monroe, LA. In 1947, the family relocated to Oakland, CA.
Carolyn was the eldest of 7 children and is preceded in death by her husband, James I. Brown II; brother, Donald R. Anderson; sisters, Elsie Riley Simms, Katie Turner, and Josephine Thomas; and son Stanley Stover.
After graduating from Oakland Technical High School, Carolyn earned her college degree in Accounting from Laney College. She also spent time in the Navy. Upon leaving the military she married James I. Brown, II on May 2, 1960, where they relocated from California to Alabama and from there, they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1968.
Carolyn was the Supervisor of the Cincinnati CCY Program for many years. She then worked for H&R Block for 30 years. She was well loved in her job as the Stadium Manager of the Cincinnati Reds/Bengals for over 15 years.
Carolyn leaves in loving memory; a devotion to 7 children, Charles B. Stover, Priscilla C. Brown, Jackie I. Brown, Valencia Y. Brown, Cassandra A. Brown, Sarita D. Ciers (Dion), and James I. Brown, III; two sisters, Sandra Elmore and Ann Wynn (Ken); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
