Carlis LaMar Barnett (82), transitioned on August 24, 2021, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60+ years, Alice, daughters; Marla and Candice, son; Harlon, and a host of grands, sister, nephew, and great grands. He was predeceased by his parents, son George and grandson Darren.
Born April 20, 1939, he was a graduate of Wyoming High and a standout athlete in football, basketball and track.
He worked/retired from the Post Office after 30 years of service. An avid bike rider, golfer and basketball player, if he wasn’t participating, he could be found watching football, basketball, or track.
All who knew “TTO” (Tall Talented One), will remember his gift of gab, humor, and camera that was never far from his side. He loved family and close friends. Best friend, Sonny, and he, were regulars at the yearly State Track meet in Columbus.
From “Pee Wee to Pro”, he and Granny attended as many sporting events that their family participated in.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Queen City Hospice staff, particularly Nurse Brittany who faithfully cared for Mr. Barnett.
