Brooksie N. Herring was born May 11, 1922 in Cumberland City, Tennessee to Jordan and Lillie Gray. She was called from labor to reward on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio.
Mother Herring was employed by Middletown Regional Hospital for 40 years. She was the oldest member of Bethlehem Temple with 72 years of faithful service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jordan and Lillie Gray, her husband of 65 years, George “Punkin” Herring and 12 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory: one son, Ralph Herring; two grandchildren, Gracie Gregory (Terry) and Todd Herring (Eddie Jo); two nephews, Bishop Mark J. Mays (Alma) and William “Jim” Phillips; loving niece, Judy Hatcher and great niece, Sheila Holland; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grand- children; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives including special family, Hallie Hill of Danville, IL, Robbie Casey of Ypsilanti, MI, Dorothy Zapp of Milwaukee, WI, Gaynell Hatcher of Dayton, OH, Donna Jean Lucas-Franklin (Charles) of Milwaukee, WI, Mary Emma Dowdy of Indianapolis, IN, the Coleman Family of Danville, IL, the Crane Family of Old Hickory, TN and the Lucas and Stacker Family; extended family, Pastor Carolyn Walker, Evangelist Rosie “Mom” Pitts of Wheeling, WV, Elder Edward and Janice Lyle of Middletown, OH, Pastor Roger Smith and the Bethlehem Temple Church Family.
