Broderick Chiefton Washington transitioned peacefully in his sleep, Monday, December 15, 2014. Broderick was born July 27, 1960 in Maysville, Kentucky. Broderick attended Scarlet Oaks Vocational School, majoring in diesel mechanics. Broderick quickly mastered his craft of mechan- ics and was able to secure employment with Roadway Trucking Company, a year prior to graduating from his program and remained employed there for several years. Broderick is a 1978 graduate of Princeton High School, Sharonville, Ohio.
Red, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a very vibrant and charismatic man. His smile was contagious and would captivate all he encountered. Red was incredibly generous, compassionate and energetic. He never met a stranger.
Red’s numerous passions included auto mechanics, fast cars, skating, motorcycle riding, telling “corny” jokes and consuming his all-time favorite dish, macaroni and cheese and cherry pie.
Red loved GOD. He knew no matter what the circum- stance or struggle life presented, his trust and belief in God would always ensure he’d be more than a conqueror.
Red possessed an unconditional love for family and friends. He adored his five children. Red’s grandchildren brought him unspeakable joy. The bond Red shared with his four siblings was unbreakable.
Red touched countless lives in his short 54 years. While his earthly body will be truly missed, Red’s spiritual body will dwell within us until eternity.
Broderick was preceded in death by his loving parents, John R. Washington and Janet B. (Lamb) Washington.
He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Tiffany White, Timeka Washington, Trenaya Washington, Paul O’Neal and Broderick Martin; siblings, Gretchen Washing- ton, Jonna Washington, Janice Brady (Rick) and Patrick Washington; grandchildren, Tyerek Terrell, Ayden O’Neal and Truly Washington-Snively; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
