On January 17, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a radiant light entered the world. Brenda J. Parker was born to the late Vernon Parker Sr. and Mildred L. Parker nee Franklin.
Brenda was a proud graduate of Princeton High School, class of 1973. Even in her youth, she carried herself with quiet brilliance and steady determination.
Following in her father’s footsteps, she began her career at Ford Motor Company in Sharonville, Ohio. There she worked, with diligence and pride embodying the resilience and strength that would define her life. Yet Brenda was never one to remain confined to one chapter. When she felt the nudge for change, she answered it. She began a new journey with the United States Postal Service on Dalton Street in Cincinnati. For 25 faithful years, she served with unwavering dedication. When she retired, she did so with honor. Brenda was far more than her career; she was brilliant and with her artistic talent, she could shape imagination into reality. She could draw with precision and craft with elegance. Her creations spoke before she did! Again and again, her talent earned first and second place in numerous competitions.
In her later years, she nurtured her spirit, deepened her faith, and found peace in inspirational programming and her growing love for God. She was drawn to documentaries, captivated by astronomy and history. She was fascinated by Sci-Fi, not having missed any episodes of Star Trek, The Outer Limits, and The Twilight Zone. She was a devoted follower of boxing and mixed martial arts (often times predicting the outcome).
Today we do not only mourn but we celebrate a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend whose presence was steady and whose light was unmistakable. Though our hearts feel the weight of her absence, we rejoice knowing she now rests with the Lord and has been reunited with her beloved parents and siblings: Ricardo, Vernon Jr. and Gillford, who have gone on before her into glory.
She leaves to carry her legacy her surviving siblings: Patrcia “Patty”, Anthony “Dexter” Sr. Gregory, Marvin “Marty” and Kimberly (Lafayette), along with a host of nieces and nephews. Special love is extended to Monica and Lance (Tammy) who were more like a younger sister and brother than niece and nephew. And with deep affection, we acknowledge her favorite cousin, Alexis, who shared a cherished and irreplaceable bond with her. And though she has moved beyond our sight, she will forever glow in our hearts.
