Birdie Mae Rogers was born on February 8, 1912 in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Lea and Mae Smoot. She departed this earth Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Triple Creek Retirement Center.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church where she served for many years, until her failing health.
She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Rogers; daughter, Lucille Crook; a sister, Margaret; and two brothers, Bruce and Henry Ray Smoot.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Pauline Dyer; her surrogate daughter, Betty Pope; two grand-daughters, Jacqueline Anderson (loving grandson-in-law, Andre Anderson) and Paulette Brooks; six great-grand-children and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Wingate Cooper of Lexington, Kentucky; one nephew, Henry Ray Smoot of Lexington, Kentucky; and two life-long friends, Grace Cook of Lexington, Kentucky and Walter Crawford of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
