Betty J. Frye (nee Felton) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 1, 1942 to the union of Inell Felton (nee Jackson) and James Felton Sr. Betty departed this life on Friday November 27, 2020. She was 78 years old.
Betty attended parochial schools throughout her primary school years then later attended public schools. She graduated from Taft High School and attended the University of Cincinnati.
In 1962, Betty married Carl Stanly Frye who proceeded her in death. From this union they were blessed with two daughters.
Betty was an avid sports fan. It did not matter the sport nor the age of the participants. She used to keep a folding chair in the trunk of her car so she could pull over and watch various pick-up games. She cheered for both sides.
She loved music and going to live concerts. At one point she had attended the Ohio Jazz Festival for 40 consecutive years.
Betty had a big personality and was known for her sense of humor. She was opinionated and blunt but could help you find humor in any situation. Her smile was bright. Her laugh was infectious. You always knew when Betty was in the room. She loved meeting people but most of all she loved her family and friends.
Betty retired from Greater Cincinnati Water Works in 2007.
Betty was preceded in death by her cherished sister Annie Louise Plear, her beloved brother Arthur Neal Felton, her sister-in-law Mary Ella Felton and her dear niece Felicia Felton.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters Alisha LaChele Frye and Robin Lenore Frye both of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her siblings, Mary Lee Felton, Shirley Ann McCollum and James Felton Jr. all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her brother-in-law Ted Plear. Nieces and nephews, Movita Gresham, Daryl Felton and Belinda Bolton of Detroit, Michigan. Terry Plear and Thomas Plear of Cincinnati. LeVon Felton of Florida, Yvette Gentry (Jennifer) of Columbus and Rayshawn Reece of Cincinnati. She also leaves a host of great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
