Bernice Horton was born on April 12, 1954 in Kenton County, Kentucky to the late Guy Horton II and Julia Mae Horton.
She attended Withrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Bernice worked as a housekeeper at The Clarion Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. She later went on to work as a home health aide for prominent families in both Ohio and Michigan.
Bernice gave her life over to Jehovah on October 29, 2016.
Bernice was a very social person. Despite being blunt when needed, she was very loving, caring, and generous, never hesitating to help those in need. She was known for calling family and friends nearly every day, even if it was by butt-dial. Although she would put a stranger to work as quickly as a family member, it was only because she saw everyone as family. Nevertheless, she would always give equally as much.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Guy Horton III.
Bernice is survived by her two daughters: Felicia Horton (Alfonsa Ford p) and Kelly Horton; her grandchildren: Jahmila Rolland (Asu Rolland), De’Marion Todd, Ayana Ford, Pretea Blythe, Epiphany Todd-Horton, and Halo Frazier; great-grandchild, Imara Rolland; her siblings: Darlene Rivers (preceded in death, Sylvester) of Detroit, Michigan, Theresa Riley (preceded in death, Myron), Elaine Williams (Daniel), Victoria Hitchcock (Gregory), Terri Ann Horton, Michelle Horton, Todd Horton, Aisha Horton; honorary children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
