Barbara Stenson

Barbara Ann Stenson was born in Springfield, Ohio on August 19, 1929 to the parents of Homer Munday & Mary Scott Munday. She was the oldest of four children born to this union. She departed this life on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Barb attended St. Simon of Cyrene Episcopal Church and St. Martin de Porres with her family. Barb attended Condon School for Cripple and Disabled Children where she graduated from.

Barbara wore many hats – wife, mom, grandmother, care giver, and daycare provider. She owned and operated Barb’s Daycare for 50+ years. The daycare was a big part of our family life. The daycare provided jobs and was a community staple. Everyone raised their children at the daycare, serving multiple family generations. She truly loved caring for all the kids that came to the daycare. It brought so much joy to her life.

She Loved to travel and enjoyed excursions to Italy, Spain and Hawaii. She was also a collector of Barbie Dolls (owning hundreds of designer and limited-edition Barbie dolls), Thomas Blackshear sculptures along with the 100’s of hats she loved to buy.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nicholas Sr. over 50 years of marriage; two sons Nicholas Jr. and William Jeffrey Stenson, brother Daryl Munday, two grandchildren Carrie Ann Smith and David Stenson Jr.

Barb leaves to cherish her memory her son David (Belinda Matthews) Stenson of Dayton, OH), her daughters Rheba Smith (Fred Smith) and Mari Stenson, special nephew Derrick Munday and special niece Crystal Chambliss, all of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Grandchildren- Nicholas Stenson lll, Freddy Smith Jr., Tenisha Smith, Shaun Calhoun, Chris Smith (Amanda), Blake Stenson.

Great grandchildren- Kalyn Smith, Kobe Smith, Jackson Woodall, Mikaela Stenson, Nicholas Wayne Stenson IV, and Eliezer Stenson, and one great -great grandchild Malik Amir Davis

Sisters Paulette Carter and Jean Munday, special sisters Francis Davis, Betty Bedford, Lyna Jean Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
