Barbara J. Cochran was born on November 23, 1937 to the
union of the late James D. Tucker and Mrs. Margaret E. Tucker.
She attended Cincinnati Public Schools. She left the Public
School System to become a wife and mother at an early age.
She studied cosmetology and became a Licensed Cosmetologist
for over 40 years.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Donald
Griffith, Sr. and of that union, three children were born. She
accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of
Peace & Joy Spiritual Kingdom of God for many years. She
later married Claude Cochran and they lived together in
marital bliss for the past 43 years. They faithfully attended
Faith Temple Ministries where she served as Church Mother.
Those who knew Mother Cochran, knew that she was filled
with the Holy Spirit. Truly blessed with a sense of humor, she
taught us to laugh, be helpful and respect and accept others
and to live as stated in Proverbs 17:22 — “A merry heart doeth
good like a medicine.”
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Donald E.
Griffith, Jr.
Cherishing her memory as they mourn their loss, is her husband,
Claude Cochran; daughter, Margaret L. Griffith; her
son, Gerald L. Griffith (Bernadette Meschelle); six stepchildren,
DaVince, Sherri, Delmar, Roderick (preceded in death),
Dwayne and Ann; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren
and 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives
and friends.
