Antonina “Stevens” Williams was born January 12, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joyce Ferell Stevens and Alfonso Magette Sr. She was the second youngest of her siblings. Everyone who knew Antonina called her ‘Thin’ or ‘Nina’.
She accepted Christ in her life as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She always went around saying “God Bless” and “Hey Boyfriend”. Nina graduated from Hughes High School (Big Red).
Nina worked several jobs throughout her life. She was a very hard worker. Nina took pride in providing for her family. She was a very outgoing woman; she didn’t let anything stop her. She would take the bus to the library and venture out shopping and enjoy walking through Findlay Market.
Nina was a breath of fresh air. Anyone she came in contact with just loved her energy. She was so loud you could hear her a mile away. Nina loved to travel; she went to Jamaica, Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. She also loved the movies and eating her sweets.
Nina cherished the moments of fine dining at her favorite restaurants She also loved Aronoff Center. She had a blast seeing Moulin Rouge, Michael Jackson, Ain’t too Proud, and Tina Turner.
Nina lived an abundant life. She loved dancing and listening to loud music. Nina was the life of the party. She would get the party started and bust a move.
She was very spontaneous about the grill. She would say, “Nell soak some ribs, I’m ready for a bone”. She always bragged about her daughter’s cooking to anyone. Nina loved her grand babies. She gained the nickname “Nanny” from her oldest grandchild when they were 2 years old. Nina would move heaven and earth for her grand babies; it was nothing she wouldn’t have done for them. Nina always said, “don’t cry for me celebrate me”.
Nina’s magnetic bold energy will truly be missed. Preceding her in death were her parents and her son, Sherdell Martin Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Shernell Martin; grandchildren, Anthony, Antanyia, Shermone, Shermony, Shernyia, Rahzyia, Rahdell, Lamond, Lah’Ruby, Ezzard, Ivory and Ivy; siblings, Doretha (Tyrone), Constance, Vicky, Alfonso Jr., Alvin, Lavon (Stanley), Belinda, Orlando (Kimberly), and LaKiesha; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
