Anthony Ryan Billups, 34, born in Cincinnati, OH on June 11, 1988, at Christ Hospital to Angela Denise Billups and Anthony Scott Abernathy. Anthony Ryan was preceded in death by his grandmothers Barbara Billups and Beatrice Hayden, his grandfather Clarence Hayden, great grandmother Jesse Mae Littmon, his uncles William and David Billups, Aunt Shirley Billups and cousin, William Lamar Billups.
Anthony Ryan was a caring, humble, loving, forgiving, man of few words. A gentle giant with a sincere heart of gold. He loved and adored his little sister De’ Asia, when he would pick her up from school if she grew tired of walking, he would place her on his shoulders. His brother Javon was his big brother and his best friend. He respected and loved him with all his heart. They would at times have the most intense conversation, or video game challenges which were just comical. And at the age of 12 that summer middle son towered over his older brother. His younger brother David their bond and unity was amazing. There personalities were so much alike, they would give you their last. And no matter what they always all had each other’s back. Their moments together, growing up at times, words were not needed, they knew, like “wonder twin powers, activate” and they handle whatever given situation together like the Kings they were.
Anthony also had a favorite Aunt; her name is Cynthia and she adore Ryan. All of them, but Anthony Ryan knew he could just smile, and she would melt like butter. She would spoil them with a love that was untouchable by anyone on the face of this earth. Anthony Ryan loved and respected his grandfather Thomas Billups and his Uncle Michael. His grandfather was the strong male presence while he was growing up.
His fiancé Brittany Grimm brought joy to his heart. And he would light up when he spoke about her or when she entered the room. Anthony would also along with his brother visit his father Anthony Scott, when he came home to see the family.
But when it came to Anthony Ryan’s relationship with his mother, she knew how blessed she truly was because God chose her out of all the women in the world to be his Mother, 34 years ago. Those three long whole hours of labor, lol, he was all that a mom could ask for. He always greeted her with a smile and a big hug and a gentle kiss on the forehead. He was and will forever be her gentle giant. Every time they chatted, there conversations at moments would last for two and a half hours, and their view on life, family and religion would often lead to the deep conversations which continued to grow their bond as Mother and son.
Anthony had the eye of the tiger when he hit the basketball court. He was a beast! And he passed onto his children this athlete skill, love for music, enjoyment of video games and dance skills moves. (inside joke} But most important love for self and family.
He was a graduated from Mount Healthy High School and attended two years at Cincinnati State.
He is survived by his parents Angela Billups and Anthony Abernathy, brothers Javon and David (Keyasha}, sister De’ Asia (Alex}, fiance’ Brittany, aunt Cynthia {Mark Christian}, uncle Dr. Jerome Lee, Jr., his sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, cousins, Aunts/Uncles, friends and the Carolina Boyz to mourn his passing.
